Week 1 - Leadership in Resiliency and Culture

Location: The Hamilton Artists Inc.
Dates of Exhibit: January 30 – May 26

Exhibition by: Adrienne Spier
Adrienne Spier is a multidisciplinary artist who works with discarded and unwanted materials. Spier received an MFA from Concordia University, completed the Independent Studio Program at the Toronto School of Art, and has a BA in Fine Art from the University of Guelph. Her work has been exhibited in Toronto, Montreal, Quebec City, Calgary, Rouyn-Noranda, Guelph, Rotterdam, The Netherlands, and Berlin, Germany. She has taken part in numerous residencies in both Ontario and Quebec, including the Hamilton Artists Inc. Cotton Factory Residency. She is the recipient of various awards from the Ontario Arts Council, Canada Council for the Arts and Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec. Spier currently lives and works in Guelph, Ontario.

Week 2 - The Art of Wellness

Exhibition by: Rebecca Belmore
From the Museum’s collection, First Nations contemporary media work by Anishnaabe/Ojibwe artist Rebecca Belmore.  Featuring her video installation March 5, 1819 from 2008. Born in Upsala, Ontario, Belmore is an artist currently living in Vancouver, British Columbia. She attended the Ontario College of Art and Design in Toronto and is internationally recognized for her performance and installation art. Since 1987, her multi-disciplinary work has addressed history, place and identity through the media of sculpture, installation, video and performance. Belmore was Canada's official representative at the 2005 Venice Biennale. Her work has appeared in numerous exhibitions both nationally and internationally.

Exhibition by: Various Artists - The Midnight Sun Camera Obscura Project
Featuring various Canadian photo-based artists, pinhole photography, as well as exterior works (across campus) and an in-gallery exhibition. Toured by University of Lethbridge Art Gallery, The Midnight Sun Camera Obscura Project brings together an international group of artists interested in camera obscura and the meeting places of art and science, cultural and wilderness settings, learning and play. 

Week 3 - Humanistic Leadership and Self Awareness

Location: Dundurn National Historic Site

Tour of this rare estate in Hamilton - the exterior design, plan and landscape setting represents the most comprehensive statement of Canadian architecture. It integrates an Italianate style main house, a series of Gothic Revival and classically styled outbuildings, remnants of 1812 military earthworks and 18th-century farm buildings, to create a composition that embodies the principles of picturesque design.
